Joanna Toye returns to the festival to discuss her Second World War ‘Shop Girls’ series based on Wolverhampton’s very own Beatties store. In this event, Joanna will be talking about her varied career and how she found inspiration in Wolverhampton!
Joanna Toye joined the production team of The Archers after reading English at university. She became a scriptwriter for the programme for over twenty years and wrote several spin-off books about the long-running radio drama. On television she has written for Crossroads, Family Affairs, Doctors and EastEnders.
Now writing novels, her Second World War ‘Shop Girls’ series is based on Wolverhampton’s very own Beatties store – the latest, out now, is ‘The Victory Girls’.
