Wolverhampton Literature Festival has invited writer Will Self to visit the Black Country. On Sunday 28 January, Self will be in conversation with Sebastian Groes to explore the writer’s fiction. They will explore some of the thematic strands that run throughout Self’s work, and focus on the modernist trilogy, Umbrella, Shark and Phone.
Self has said of his writing that he does not seek to create characters for his readers to identify with, or to represent reality: ‘I want to astonish people.’
