Stourbridge based a comedy theatre group present a selection of sketches and routines especially for Wolverhampton Literary festival.
Find out what happens when a satellite navigation system gets a life of her own? Or when Spiderman gets caught up in red tape? What happened when the husband came home early? See two old ladies enjoy themselves at a wake or visiting a poor patient in hospital.
Lots of silliness and laughs guaranteed in this collection of quick fire sketches all written or adapted by local comedy writer / actor / director Phill Liptrot.
A Comedy Theatre Group was formed in 2010 to give the opportunity to people to get involved in local theatre. it was aimed at people who had little or no experience of acting but always fancied "having a go", and has now grown into a group that performs comedy and pantomimes devised and created by the members. Shows are designed to be simple and easy to produce, be family friendly and very much a part of the local community.
Some of our former members have gained so much confidence that have moved on to pursue their own projects, which they would not have done without being involved with a comedy theatre group.
The group always welcome new members who wish to get involved in all areas of live theatre, whether as actors, writers, set builders or backstage and front of house help. At the moment we are especially looking for people to get involved in the lighting and sound side of our shows.
We meet on Monday evenings in Stourbridge. Rehearsals are always held in a low pressure, fun environment with the emphasis on enjoying the experience and discovering just how exciting theatre can be.
The only rules we apply are that people must be over 16, reliable, committed and ever so slightly mad!
Please feel free to contact the group for any further information:- firstname.lastname@example.org
