Last year Wolverhampton lost one of its much loved poets Win Saha.

Win started her career as women’s editor and feature writer for the Birmingham Gazette and Evening Despatch; for whom she interviewed many film stars including May West, Laurel and Hardy and Paul Robeson.  But poetry was always been her passion.

During her lifetime she penned over 3,000 poems that she read all over the Midlands and had a weekly poetry spot on WCR community radio.  Win was the proud winner of the Silver Cup for Literature at the Perton Staffordshire Show in 2017.

Win always looked upon her poems as being full of humour, political comment and the gentler aspects of life.

Win raised countless amounts for a number of charities and to celebrate her life and work friends of Win will be reciting her poetry in her memory.

(The poetry recital will follow a fish n chip supper (£5) at the church in aid of The Mission of Seafarers: booking essential by 26th January – please contact Penny on / 01902 756125.)
