Pravās: Ethnic Migration & The Black Country

Join Jaivant Patel Company for the documentary screening ofPravās on Saturday 3rd February 2024, at Wolverhampton Literature Festival (4:00 pm), ahead of it featuring as part of an exhibition at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, curated by Jaivant Patel.

This documentary was created as a result of interviews filmed with first- and second-generation elders who settled in The Black Country. The event will also feature a panel discussion, focused on the migration of ethnically diverse members of the local community who migrated to the region during this time.

Pravās is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and tells the powerful and inspiring story of Gujarati Migration to The Black Country, using memories collected from first- and second-generation elders, and their families.

Jaivant Patel Company is a National Portfolio Organisation for Arts Council England.
