Storyteller Peter Chand presents a heady collection of some of his favorite traditional stories, some of which he has collected from India, translated, and shares now with us in his own unique and skillful style.
Expect a mouth-watering blend of evocative, dark, and thoughtful tales from the Indian sub-continent, as relevant today as they have ever been.
Born and bred in Wolverhampton, Peter has told his stories from Southall to Singapore, Todmorden to Toronto, Amsterdam to Athens- and many a place in between. He looks forward to welcoming you to Tales from the Motherland. (Suitable for adults and audiences over 14)
Peter is currently the Storyteller in Residence at the renowned Story Museum in Oxford, and also holds the honor of being one of the 100 Masters for his work with storytelling and community (awarded by Creative Black Country)
“Peter Chand is a brilliant storyteller who knows how to give old traditional stories a new suit in which they can live on for years to come.” Kitty Peetoom Co-programmer Zwolle Unlimited Festival Netherlands. peterchand.com
