Glyn Brown is a freelance music journalist. Her recently published memoir, Dancing Barefoot: How to be Common, has been praised by authors Erica Wagner and Kate Mosse, and featured on BBC Radio 6. It's a fascinating read, tracing her journey from a childhood home devoid of books to a life interviewing music icons like Nick Cave. When Glyn ends up scrabbling to get by in London, she finds inspiration from researching the lives of women in history who came from nothing and fought their corner. These seventeen working-class heroines help Glyn find her way forward.
