Central Youth Theatre Presents Three Sisters

Playwright Anton Chekhov. Adapted by Matthew Gordon.

'The Proust children – Oona, Maria, Isabel and their brother Andrew – have spent their childhood dreaming of the people they will grow to be. Now in their 20s, the realities of life have set in. Stuck in a small village in Staffordshire and faced with the prospect of marriage, mortgages and melancholy, they are forced to ask – Is this all life has to offer?'

Anton Chekhov's classic play about dreams, family and the struggles of adulthood has been reimagined for a new adaptation set in Staffordshire. Adapted and directed by Matthew Gordon (professional actor and former Central Youth Theatre member), the production is being staged as part of the Wolverhampton Literature Festival. Bringing Chekhov's classic characters to modern day for a new generation facing new challenges, the production hopes to be something truly memorable.
