Join local author and nurse Aldona Grupas, discussing from her award-winning books, which outline the individual voice and personal tales of resettlement, from Lithuanian Refugees and coming here after WWII to immigrants resettling in the West Midlands. Hear stories from generations of immigrants who have migrated to the UK and how they have developed vibrant communities complete with their own social and cultural events and thriving community organisations. Aldona will also be sharing her own personal journey on resettling in Wolverhampton and sharing stories on her career as a geriatric nurse.

Born in Riga, Latvia, to Lithuanian parents, Aldona Grupas later moved to Klaipėda in Lithuania, before resettling in Wolverhampton, where she embarked on a geriatric-nursing career. Aldona has also set up a helpline for the Lithuanian Community in the area, chairing this enterprise for 12 years.
